<lj:music>Together We Will Live Forever- Clint Mansell</lj:music>

Yep, another one. :D

Character: Tamaki Suou (Ouran High School Host Club) given by ferentis

1. Do you like this character?
Yes! :D He's one of my favourite anime characters (probably tied with Light Yagami) and one of the best fictional characters overall. I even attempted to create a shrine for him (here) which like most of my other web projects, will probably never be finished. :(

2.What name/s do you call this character?
... Tamaki. :)

3.What image-color do you associate with this character?
Purple, because of his uniform and eyes.

4.What image-song do you associate with this character?
Hmmm... nothing really comes to mind. :/ Probably Mata Ashita, but that might not really count...

5.What blood-type do you think this character is?
I know what blood-type this character is because of that shrine I made. XD He has Type A blood, but I think Type AB or B suits him better. :)

6. Of all of the titles to that this character appears in, what character do you like to put this character with?
Ermm... well, Haruhi I suppose. I tend to think of him being surrounded by friends, but not really paired with anyone. In the manga, it's a little different, but that's another story. :D

7.What would you want to say to this character?
I would never talk to Tamaki if I could. XD Probably just a "hiii~" and then I'd run off. :)

8.Which do you want to do with this character: Shake hands, hug or kiss
HUG! :D Even though he has a lot of friends, I can't help but feel he's sort of a lonely person... :(

If anyone would like to do it, feel free to ask for a character. :)

Is there anything in your fridge right now that you would never eat/drink?
Yes. Basically all the frozen meat in the freezer (is a vegetarian) and that limberry (?) sauce my mom bought. XD

04. What is the one profession you always wanted to pursue?
<strike>Assassin.</strike> I would really like to be a travel writer or journalist. It's not very likely to happen though, since I can't write very well with deadlines.

05. Do you nap a lot?
Nope. Just if I've had a very tough day at school or didn't get enough sleep the night before.

06. What was your first celebrity crush?
I don't think I've ever had one...

07. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Ouran, again. :D I'm also reading this great book called 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak (one of my favourite authors).

08. What was the last thing you ate today?
... Oreo Cakester?

09. What is the last movie you've watched?
I just went to my friend's house to watch The Dark Knight again. :) Before that, I was watching Pride and Prejudice (2005), and Grave of the Fireflies.

10. What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Twitter, Hotmail, Livejournal, Failblog (and related websites) and... my daily SAT practice question at Collegeboard/ Sparknotes.

11. What was the last thing you bought?
A really nice guidebook about Siena at the library (they have used books sales- I like giving books a home). :)

12. what are you listening to right now?
My Fairy- Midorikawa Hikaru. It's from Hakushaku to Yousei, and even though I don't particularly like the series, the song is sort of calming.

13. Does the weather affect your mood?
Yep. If it's rainy and dark, I find it hard to get up in the morning. XD

14. What are your plans for next weekend?
I'm not quite sure. I'll probably be home doing homework and studying. And volunteering and practicing the piano.

20. Say something to the person who tagged you:
Hello!

I'm not going to tag anyone; if anyone would like to do it, feel free! :D

(I honestly don't know 3/4 of the people in any of my classes)
• I'm good at remembering dates.
• I have no idea what I want to do for the rest of my life. (I'm going to change the world!)
• My answers are totally honest.

That was fun!

    <lj:music>Stars and Butterflies- Dario Marianelli</lj:music>

Oh, Code Geass... what an ending. :( Since it's a Monday, and I don't really have time to make a long rant about what I thought of the series, I'll just say one thing. That thing is a HUGE spoiler, so it shall go under this cut.

LELOUCH IS ALIVE // *is in DENIAL~*

I was pretty upset that he died, but then I realized that the series wouldn't have been really... concluded if he hadn't died, like how Light's dead ended Death Note. But, being a big Lelouch fan, I still allow myself to believe that maybe... somehow... well, rationally, getting stabbed through the heart= death, but- Cornelia got shot in the back multiple times, and she's alive. Guilford somehow survived a nuclear explosion, and so did Nunnally and Sayako (I refuse to go along with whatever Sunrise came up with to explain how they survived. It just doesn't cut it.) Oh and Suzaku 'survived' when his Knightmare blew up. SO, perhaps, Lelouch managed to walk away from his life-threatening, mortal (at least in real life) injuries as well. :D

Just remember, this is CODE GEASS: where the only way to be certain that someone's dead is if you see a body, and sometimes, that doesn't quite work either.

My rational side sees three possibilities:

1. Lelouch is dead.
2. Lelouch is that guy driving the cart.
3. Lelouch became a paper crane. A pink paper crane. Like this one I folded.

I hope everyone's week got off to a good start! :D
<lj:music>Leaving Netherfield- Dario Marianelli</lj:music>

In an effort to update this journal on a regular basis:

I don't know how I found the time (procrastination probably has something to do with it XD), but since school's started, I've been watching a lot of movies. I saw Emma (staring Gwyneth Paltrow), two adaptations of Mansfield Park (and I read it as well <3), Jane Eyre (the BBC mini-series from 2007, and I read the book), Spirited Away (again), Batman Begins, Moulin Rouge! and Howl's Moving Castle (again.) Today, I think I'll revisit Emma, since I really didn't watch it properly last time. :/ And it really was a... I guess, cute sort of movie. :D Really light, and fluffy-ish.

Mansfield Park has to be one of Jane Austen's least popular works, since it was nothing like Pride and Prejudice- probably her most beloved piece of writing. I actually like Mansfield Park better than Pride and Prejudice (it's my favourite Jane Austen novel at the moment, though I haven't read Emma, or any of her later works).

I like it because it's not a love story, mostly. It's not... happily-ever-after-ish like Elizabeth and Darcy's story, with typical villains (Lady Catherine for example) who get in the way of their relationship, a sort of love-hate thing that develops into a pure love thing, and basically, everyone who deserves it gets their happiness in the end. Maybe Miss De Bourgh and Caroline Bingley weren't exactly happy at the end, but Miss De Bourgh and Darcy never really had anything going on between them (I do feel really sorry for her though), and probably most readers weren't that sympathetic towards Caroline because she was set up to be a rival/ obstacle to Elizabeth.

The focus of Mansfield Park (the book at least) wasn't about marriage, though there was a lot of romance in it- supposedly, the wrong kind, since no one ends up with who they were with or attracted to in the beginning, except for Fanny.

Mansfield Park is about a young girl named Fanny Price who goes off to live with her wealthy relatives as an act of charity from her uncle, Sir Thomas Bertram, Lady Bertram and their children: Thomas, Edmund, Maria and Julia. Because she's the 'poor relation', Fanny is often mistreated, or left out of things by her cousins, with the exception of Edmund. He becomes a brother-figure to Fanny soon after her arrival at Mansfield, and as they grow up together, she becomes the person her confides in the most.

... Can you predict the ending now? XD

Then, when Fanny is about 18, a new family (the Grants) arrives at the Mansifled parsonage, and their cousins- Mary and Henry Crawford come to stay with them for a time. Their presence wrecks havoc on the Bertrams, especially with Sir Thomas away on a trip to visit on of his plantations. In his absence, Fanny becomes sort of the 'moral centre' of the family, since everyone else is busy falling in loving and eloping.

There are complicated love triangles and lines, standard Jane Austen elopements and affairs, a bunch of drama and heartbreak, and most surprisingly, unhappy ends for two of my favourite characters. And no, they are not Fanny and Edmund.

Shortly after the arrival of Mary and Henry Crawford, Edmund falls for the former, and Maria and Julia both fall for Henry (though Maria is already enraged to a Mr. Rushworth.) Mary does genuinely like Edmund I believe, though she doesn't like the fact that he plans to become a clergyman. Though Henry knows of Maria's engagement, he doesn't do anything to stop her advances, and even encourages them. Mr. Rushworth isn't very bright, so he doesn't say much about it.

Meanwhile, Fanny has to cope with her feelings for Edmund, even though she knows that his feelings aren't the same. How tragic.

Naturally, it seems like the villains in this story would be Mary and Henry (I forgot to mention Mrs. Norris, but she's not that important. She's the sort of character that everyone dislikes in some way, because her personality is made to be... like that) because they get in the way of Fanny, who is the protagonist, and Edmund, her love interest.

But no.

What's even more unlike Pride and Prejudice about this book is that I don't like the protagonist, or her love interest. Maybe it's because I find it weird that they're cousins and have a brother-sister relationship throughout the whole book. And they get married in the end because of a sudden epiphany Edmund has. Very convenient.

Fanny: I sound kind of harsh, but I think she's a prude. Critics have called her insipid, priggish etc... and I have to agree. Jane Austen made her to be a sort of 'good girl' who's all shy and timid, but has a good heart and strong moral values. All good and well. But what really annoys me about her character is not that she's... not strong physically, or quiet, or even her lack of spirit. I know that not every heroine can be like Elizabeth Bennet. But Fanny Price is something else entirely.

Fanny puts up with all the unfair treatment from her relatives (mostly Mrs. Norris) without complaint, but then Edmund finds her exhausted and unhappy and he reprimands his aunt for treating her badly. It's almost like ... passive complaining- when you're not really complaining, but you make others feel sorry for you anyway. Like... you're waiting for someone else to notice that you're not feeling well, and then you say, 'well, I am feeling a little off...' and bask in the attention.

It's hard to describe, but it gets really annoying. Maybe Fanny's not doing this intentionally, but there were times I was wondering why she didn't say she was tired, or say what she really wanted. I can't really feel sympathetic for her plights because she never does anything herself to lessen them.

Edmund: I don't really know what to say about him. He was a kind person though. A little naive, and a little blind. Sort of wooden.

Mary Crawford: She's selfish, and sometimes quite hurtful. But she has a lot of wit and spark, and a good heart somewhere. She's not all goodness and sweetness like Fanny, but more assertive and open with what she feels. Though I knew from the start that Fanny and Edmund would be together in the end, I though Mary and Edmund would've made a better couple. He's modest, unassuming, and lacks spirit sometimes. She would've balanced his... mellow-ness out nicely.

Here is a really good and... entertaining essay about why Mary Crawford should've been the heroine of Mansfield Park.

Henry Crawford: My favourite character in Mansfield Park, followed by his sister Mary.

For starter, know Henry isn't a very moral person. He encourages Maria's feelings for him even though she's engaged, and he sees love as a sort of game. Then, he decides to take up the challenge of 'making a hole in Fanny Price's heart' and finds himself truly in love with her <strike>sickening</strike> sweetness and gentleness. Not that I blame him though. Fanny was something new and exciting to him, because unlike the other female characters, she doubts his sincerity from the beginning (because of what she's seen him do with Maria), and doesn't succumb to his usually infallible charms.

So, he works hard to try to gain a little respect in her eyes by helping her beloved brother William get a promotion in the navy. He's genuinely kind to her, and shows courtesy to the rest of her family (the Prices) who are below him in situation.

But despite all this, Fanny still rejects him and he goes off to London. There, everything falls apart. He elopes with Maria, and they live together for some time before they separate. Of course, anything that might have helped his case with Fanny disappeared and she had the satisfaction of being relieved of his presence in her life, which she found distressing and unwelcome.

What made this story rather tragic is Jane Austen herself said in the epilogue that if Henry had continued his kind behaviour towards Fanny, they would've had a happy marriage, just as Mary and Edmund would've.

His energy and enthusiasm balanced Fanny's quietness and... lack of spirit. Her morals would've helped in correcting the flaws in his character. They would've made a nice couple.

Now, to end off this long essay short of thing, I'd like to explain why I liked this book, even though nothing turned out the way I wanted it to.

1. Henry and Mary Crawford were two of the most fascinating and ambiguous characters I've encountered in Jane Austen's works. They aren't really villains, but they are not all goodness either. In short, they're more realistic.

2. Not everyone gets a happy ending. It contradicts a lot of what I said previously, but I think that if everyone ended up with who I wanted them to end up with, the story wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. Nor would I dislike Fanny so much. :D

3. I like criticizing Fanny? :D

Just a quick word about the adaptations: Fanny is always portrayed as a more spirited, lively young woman. I think this says something about her character in the book- how it doesn't really appeal to anyone. I liked both versions- the 1999 one with Frances O'Conner and the 2007 one with Billie Piper about the same, but neither stuck to the book very well.

In conclusion, Mansfield Park was really something unique. It showcased Jane Austen as something other than a romance author. It provided a good insight about social classes and everyday life in the time period, and it gave us readers Mary and Henry Crawford. Seriously, these two should have a spin off story of some sort for themselves. <3

Wow. That was long. I really like ranting about books and fiction though. <3

Again, I hope everyone's having a good weekend! :D

Sidenote: I can't wait for Code Geass R2 Episode 24 to come out... But I'm pretty upset with Nunnally coming back to life and joining the dark side. What happened to the lie detector powers she had? Why don't people stay dead in Code Geass (ok, she didn't really die, but Sunrise did a whole thing to make us believe she was... )? D:

Well, I should've known summer vacation would come to an end. :/ Now, I'm back in school, already loaded with two assignments, a presentation, math homework and a bunch of other wonderful things to look forward to doing. Oh, and tomorrow, my volunteer hours at the local hospital start again, and my piano lessons resume. D:

I've been gone for the latter part of August, visiting my Dad, and during that time, I really didn't have an opportunity to use a laptop to check on things on Livejournal unfortunately (which explains my disappearance for almost half a month.) When I got back, I had to check about 40+ pages, each page containing ten posts worth of stuff, on my friends page, so I'm sorry if I haven't commented on something I'd usually comment on. XD

My Dad lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which is about a 4 hour plane ride from where I live ~somewhere in Ontario. On a map, it's on the left end, right beside British Columbia, where the famous (I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but they are pretty famous here in Canada XD) Rocky Mountains are, along with a bunch of National Parks and about 10293198374 lakes.

We visited Banff, Canada's first National Park, and Jasper, a park created sometime after, but is equally... naturous (full of nature) and possibly, even prettier than Banff. :D

Here are some pictures I took:

Sulphur Mountain

Medicine Lake

Athabasca Glaciers

Created with angelamaria's Icon Table Generator @ Bauble

And, we were fortunate enough to spot some deer and a bears family along the roads. :D They really weren't afraid of humans at all, even with about 30 of us surrounding them taking photographs.

    <lj:music>Arabesque- Takahiro Mizushima</lj:music>

Ermm, so I saw The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor yesterday...

This had to be one of the most... awkward movies I've ever seen... Though, it wasn't bad, plotwise, and the special effects were pretty awesome to look at. :D

But there were a couple things that really bugged me at the end:

1. The horrible script

It kind of felt like they gave the characters random lines to say at the random-est moments, just to explain the plot or fill in gaps for the audience.

2. The lack of chemistry between the actors

Especially between Rick and Evelyn. If I didn't know they were married from previous knowledge, I would've thought they were merely colleagues, or good friends... in the first couple minutes of the movie, at least. Also, they kind of seemed a little young to be Alex's parents (according to Wikipedia, 'Alex' Luke Ford is 27, 'Rick' Brendan Fraser is 39, and 'Evelyn' Maria Bello is 41) , so I thought that maybe they should've picked a younger actor to play the part, to make it a little more convincing (seriously, I thought Alex was Rick's younger brother or something.) :/

3. The stuff that wasn't explained too well

I was kind of wondering... after Zi Yuan sacrificed Lin's, and her own immortality, couldn't they just go back to the Pool of Eternal Life and drink or bathe in it to become immortal again? Or is it some sort of one time thing? XD Why was the emperor so evil? Did he have a bad childhood, or some tragic love story sort of thing before becoming emperor etc...? He was sort of an interesting character, though it might've been nice if he was given a little more character development, so he wouldn't be the generic evil villain who wants to conquer the world just because he can. -_- Going back to the immortality thing- what are the terms of it? Do you still get injured when you're immortal? That would explain how the Emperor realized Zi Yuan wasn't immortal anymore, but then... Lin was burnt and scratched after chasing the carriage through the streets of Shanghai, so... maybe you can be injured while being immortal? Then... how did the Emperor realize...? Also, after you become immortal, do you have immortal children? Or did Lin become immortal at a certain age? Or are you born immortal, then grow older until a certain age (it sounds stupid, but it happened... in Breaking Dawn...)?

4. Some things that just didn't seem right

Since the Emperor killed his friend, General Yang, I was pretty sure that they would have a epic showdown at the end, so Yang could rightfully take revenge to what he did to him (after all...getting your limbs pulled apart is a particularly painful way to die... D:). Of course, Rick is sort of the hero of the story, so naturally he would be the one to deliver the final blow, but it seemed like everyone just forgot about General Yang, and his story with the Emperor, which I thought would be sort of important at the end. :/ That bit when Zi Yuan sacrificed the immortality of her daughter, and herself to bring back 10s of thousands of dead soldiers... it just didn't seem like a fair trade... it was just a little too... convenient... I guess XD

And finally, I kept getting 'they-ripped-off-Lord-of-the-Rings-Return-of-the-King' vibes from the final battle. Summoning thousands of dead people to fight in an epic final battle between good and bad, and... fading away right after the battle into what seems like fine particles of dust?

... yep, it all sounds suspiciously familiar...

Or, maybe, I'm just really picky over the small details. :(

All in all, I suppose it was a somewhat decent movie... I really liked the special effects? :D

I still haven't written my rant/ review about The Dark Knight, but I think... for me, it's one of those movies I need some time to fully appreciate. I mean, right after I saw it, I just felt kind of scared... especially that 'Why so serious?' line from the Joker, but the more I think about it, the more I realize... it was a really really good movie...

DDD:

10: What is your best quality?
I'm sort of the peacemaker between my friends when we're planning outings and no one can agree and email flame wars start. XD

11: Is being tagged fun?
Yep! :D I get to say things I normally wouldn't just say... straight out in a post. :D

12: What is your worst quality?
I procrastinate. A lot. I was supposed to get a job this summer, but I haven't applied yet, and now I think it's a little too late. :(

13: If you could be anyone for one day, who would you be?
Do fictional characters count? :D Well then... I'd be... Hancock? 0.o Cause he can fly! :D

But in real life, I wouldn't really want to be anyone else. :/

14: What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
XD She's super special awesome! <3

15: What are you happy about right now?
... I'm home alone for 8 hours? :D

16: How many children do you want to have, if any?
Maybe about 2? Like twins or something? I mean, I know you can't plan twins but it'd be fun. Especially if they were boy/girl. :D

17: What's better, to give or to receive?
I love to give, since you'll always receive something in return- like a 'thank you!' :D

18: Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing at this point in your life?
Ummm... Or maybe that liquid hand soap I have... it's a really nice... fruity smell. <3

20: What was the last thing you spent money on?
Candy at Sugar Mountain!

Ohh, and yesterday, I saw The Dark Knight.
I've been 15 years old for officially... a week and two days! :D <strike>I feel so old

</strike>

To 'celebrate' my birthday, my friends and I went to a nearby theatre to see HANCOCK- that superhero movie with Will Smith in it. :/

SPOILERS BELOW.

The movie definitely wasn't what I expected, because I thought Hancock was going to be about one of those generic superheros who can fly, are super strong, etc... then the peace he keeps is disrupted by some evil villain who tries to destroy the city and Hancock naturally saves the day, happily ever after etc.. etc...

Well, he could fly, and he could crush a train and lift cars, but I really didn't expect him to be so flawed from the start with a horrible attitude , and a drinking problem . I thought his flaw would be... a lack of confidence or something (like... he failed to save someone he cared about, and now he doesn't have the confidence to save anyone else... where am I getting this from?), but from the beginning, he just had a lot of... issues.

But I think that's why I really liked his character, because he was so flawed and unglorified. Everyone hated him, and he sort of... hated back, until someone showed him that people actually needed him, and that his powers could be used to do just good instead of... doing good and wrecking havoc at the same thing. And then people started appreciating and respecting him. :)

Then, the movie got really lame and unnecessarily romantic, I think. That whole 'created-in-pairs-meant-for-each-other' thing with his friend's (Ray's) wife was really... not to my liking. An alternative could've been maybe.... Hancock was losing his powers because he was starting to care, and that made him human again... And in the end, he could've became mortal and joined the police force or something. :/

That aside, I really did enjoy the movie; the ending was sweet. :)

TWILIGHT

I can't believe Breaking Dawn is coming out in ... 11 days!!! <3 I entered a contest a while back, and won myself a pre-ordered copy of the book, so it means I'll have to wait a week or so after it's released to read it. DDDD: What am I going to do till then??

This quote Stephenie posted was just kind of... brain breaking. I’ve missed you.”

We finally get to meet Tanya! :D

And this one was posted on my birthday:

Bella: “Oh, Mike! How will I go on?”

I wouldn't mind it if Bella and Mike got together at the end. :D

My friends all pitched in and got me the most amazing gift ever! :D

<333

It's not actually a blueish colour like it is in the picture (I tried to make it look prettier with Photoshop cause the picture I took with my camera was kind of ugly). XD

I wish I could've gotten Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for it, but my parents wanted me to play a more... 'educational' game, so they bought me Chessmaster. Now I know how to play chess (not that I'm any good at it.) Yay? :DD

I'm going to see The Dark Knight next Thursday (by the way, if you've seen it- does it have the Twilight teaser trailer in the previews?)! :D From what I've heard- it's going to be EPIC. :D

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer

Which book in the series is your favorite?
It used to be Eclipse, but now I'm going to have to say... New Moon. :/

2. How long did it take you to read the books?
One day each :D (not counting the time I had to wait in-between each book for the next one to arrive in the library. Then it would've been... a month maybe?)

3. Who introduced you to the books?
A book talk at school I think...

4. Did you buy them, borrow them, or have them given to you as a gift?
Borrowed from the library at first, and then won them as a prize.

5. Are you most looking forward to: Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun, or the movie?
MIDNIGHT SUN.

6. What’s your dream ending to the series?
Hmm... there are a couple...

i) Everything that's happened so far has been a dream, and Bella wakes up from it when she dies in Breaking Dawn.
ii) Bella loses her memory, ends up with Jacob (I'm going to ignore all the werewolf stuff that happened), and Edward watches her for the rest of her life. Not in a stalkerish way of course. In a bittersweet, 'it was for the best' way. :D
iii) Edward and Bella die. Not necessarily Romeo and Juliet style, but Paris (Jacob) has to be involved in this somehow....
iv) Edward, Bella and Jacob all die, resulting a reconciliation between humans, vampires and werewolves.
... none of these are likely to happen are they? :/

FAVORITES:

7. Who is your favorite character?
Carlisle <3

And then Jasper :D

8. Who’s your favorite vampire?
Carlisle

9. Who is your favorite werewolf?
SETH!

10. What’s one of your favorite quotes from the stories?
'... Jacob exploded...'

Page 325 of New Moon. It's not really what it sounds like, <strike>but one can hope right?</strike>

11. What was your favorite Bella and Edward moment?
Right after he rescues her in Port Angeles.

12. What was your favorite Bella and Jacob moment?
End of Twilight, at the prom. :D

13. How about your favorite Bella and Alice moment?
When Alice returned in New Moon. Nothing else really comes to mind I guess... :/

14. What was your favorite adventure/battle?
The epic werewolves+ Cullens v.s Victoria battle thing in Eclipse.

15. Which book cover was your favorite?
Eclipse

16. Are these books among your favorite books of all times?
No. Just NO.

THIS OR THAT?

17. Twilight or New Moon?
New Moon

18. New Moon or Eclipse?
New Moon

19. Eclipse or Twilight?
This is hard... Eclipse, I guess.

20. Are you more excited about Breaking Dawn or Midnight Sun?
MIDNIGHT SUN

21. Midnight Sun or the Twilight Movie?
MIDNIGHT SUN

22. The Twilight Movie or Breaking Dawn?
Breaking Dawn :D

23. Who do you want to see Bella with most: Edward or Jacob?
Ermm... I kind of want to see them all dead (though Edward is sort of already dead I guess...)

But if I had to pick... Edward.

24. Who do you like more: Bella or Edward?
Edward

25. Bella or Jacob?
Bella, I guess.

26. Bella or Alice?
Annoying, disabled human or slightly less annoying, wedding-obssessed vampire...

Alice.

27. Alice or Edward?
Edward

28. Alice or Jacob?
Depends on what book, but generally... Alice.

29. Rosalie or Alice?
Rosalie

30. Jasper or Alice?
Jasper

31. Jasper or Edward?
Jasper

32. Carlisle or Esme?
Carlisle

33. Emmett or Jasper?
Jasper

34. Emmett or Jacob?
Emmett

35. Bella or Rosalie?
Rosalie

36. Esme or Charlie?
Charlie.

37. Charlie or Carlisle?
Carlisle

38. Charlie or Billy?
Charlie

39. Jacob or Sam?
Sam!

40. Sam or Quil?
Sam

41. Quil or Embry?
Quil

42. Who’s the better villain: James or Victoria?
James. Victoria was just so random and kind of vague in my memory. All I remember is Bella describing her hair. :/

43. Werewolves or Vampires?
Vampires

MOVIE STUFF:

44. Are you excited?
Ermm... Sort of.

45.What do you think of the casting so far?
Not... great. But it's alright.

46. Are you going to go see it?
Yep!

47. Planning on going with anyone in particular?
Not sure yet, but probably with a bunch of guys that also read Twilight, and one that doesn't/ hates it, but he's just fun to drag along.

48. Do you think it will stay true to the book?
I wouldn't mind if they changed it. But none of that FBI stuff, or too much OOCness.

BREAKING DAWN SPECULATION:

49. Do you think Bella will be turned into a vampire finally?
I really hope this doesn't happen... and I don't think it will...

50. Do you think she and Edward will get married?
Yep! But no vampire conversion afterwards. :D

51. Do you think Jacob might imprint in this book?
Just so it'd end the stupid love triangle.

52. Who do you think Bella will end up with: Edward or Jacob?
<strike>Bella/ Death (minus the vampirism)

</strike>Edward<strike>
</strike>
53. Do you think it will be a happy, sad, or shocking ending?
Probably happy ending, but I'm crossing my fingers for a depressing, sort of unresolved ending.

54. Who do you think will be the villain(s) of the book this time?
JACOB

55. How would you feel about a possible vampire / werewolf cross?
Ermm... that sounds awkward.

56. Will Charlie find out Edward is a vampire?
Nope. :D

57. Will the vampires and werewolves continue the truce they had in Eclipse?
<strike>If Bella doesn't get changed, there'd be peace and happiness everywhere! :D

</strike>It depends on whether Bella gets changed or not.

58. If anyone, who do you think will die in this book?
Bella, Edward and Jacob.

59. For a twist: what would you think if Edward was somehow turned human?
Well, I'd like Bella better because she wouldn't be describing how beautiful, perfect, god-like and SPARKLY he is all the time. -_-

60. Do you think Jacob will be over Bella by the end of the book?
He'll have imprinted, so yes. But he'll still have a faint impression of her on his heart.

61. What do you most want to happen in Breaking Dawn?
See question 6.

62. What’s your dream ending?
... See question 6???

A FEW LAST THINGS:

63. In which book did you like Bella’s character best?
End of Eclipse.

64. How about Edward’s?
New Moon, just because he wasn't really in it. In Eclipse, he sort of became this overprotective, father-figure person to Bella (in my mind at least.) It was kind of disturbing.

65. Jacob’s?
Twilight

66. Alice’s?
Twilight

67. If it were possible, who would you most want to meet in person?
It'd be kind of fun cliff diving with the werewolves. :D

So, here are my reasons for why I've gone two months without a post:

Exams/ summatives/ boring school stuff

Lack of interesting things in my life

Internet downtime

... Twilight? :D

Today is basically the official last day of school for us in grade 9- we got our exam marks back, said goodbye to teachers and friends etc... and I think it's the 20th, which means summer officially begins tomorrow!

Strangely, it doesn't really feel like school's over (but that might be because I plan to practice math during the summer, since it's basically my worst subject), but I'm really happy I don't have to create anymore National Parks (geography summative), write 15 page reports for English or make 80 page cookbooks. Yayyy! Oh... and about that National Park... I actually made an 'official' website for it, if anyone's interested: here. I was too lazy to copy and past the info I wrote, so it's just all dummy text. :/

Also... I won this contest for this website by designing these T-shirt designs and now I own a copy of the Twilight Saga. All 3 books. In hardcover. In a pretty case. And the 4th book when it comes out. <3 *Poke* (and here and here)

I am so happy. :D

Finally, after... 3 months or so, I've put up a new layout. :D

It features a lovely stylesheet by cartonage and a header using one of the pictures (original pic) I took from Italy.

I also changed my profile, but it's nothing fancy. :/ Just a plain (but still pretty) table by pumkinsoup and a few icons (also of pictures from Italy) I made.

    <lj:music>Christofori's Dream- David Lanz</lj:music>

Kind of random but... this has been frustrating me for quite a while now, so I thought I'd ask here:

Does anyone remember where this quote: 'don't give your heart to a stone' came from (a movie? A book?)? Or even better- who said it?

It's so odd that I just can't recall where I've heard it... It seems so familiar... Maybe it wasn't worded exactly like that but it was close... I think... I'm guessing from it was from Harry Potter, but I've skimmed through all my books and I haven't come across it...

Maybe I subconsciously made the quote up myself? That'd be kind of weird... XDDD

Ohh, and I really need this quote for an English speech I'm writing. TT

<lj:music>Set the Fire to the Third Bar- Snow Patrol</lj:music>

Now that I've kind of adjusted back to my boring, tedious life in Canada (it was hard getting used to the 6 hour time difference between here and Italy- and that was why I kept waking up at 3 A.M in the morning there), I'm going to try to not appear so dead on Livejournal. :D

Basically, for the last... 2 weeks or so since my last entry, I've been reading a lot of books (well, I also watched a couple movies.)

Ermm... yes... very exciting! :D

On the plane back to Canada, we had TVs on the back of our seats, and a bunch of awesome movies and shows we could watch for free. <3

I picked Enchanted, Juno and No Country for Old Men.

Enchanted: I really liked the concept of this one, and all the great music.

Juno: TT From all the reviews I've heard about this movie, to watch it was really disappointing. Juno's attitude annoyed me a lot throughout most of the movie.

No Country for Old Men: So. Bloody. But this was the best movie out of the three, and possibly the best movie I've watched this year. :) I loved how suspenseful it was; it kept me awake for the last 2 hours of our flight.

A couple days later, I watched Atonement at a friend's house.

Atonement: For some reason, I couldn't understand most of what they were saying during the middle parts (that could've just been because I wasn't really paying attention), but the beginning and end were amazing. Especially the ending- it was the best part.

Now, books: Sense and Sensibility, The Picture of Dorion Gray and Eclipse.

Sense and Sensibility: I saw some of the movie, starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet a couple years ago, and thought it was pretty decent. But I never had a chance to see the complete movie, so I decided to read the book instead. :) I liked it a lot, for its characters and twists; though I have to say I kind of prefer the movie. It was just... more exciting to see actual people performing the parts (plus it was a lot easier to understand.)

The Picture of Dorion Gray: Seriously, this is one of the best books I've ever read. Second best probably.

It's about a 'beautiful' young man named Dorion Gray, who has his portrait painted by an artists named Basil, whom he's friends with. But then he meets another one of Basil's acquaintances- Lord Henry, who 'corrupts' his young and naive mind by telling him that his youth will wither away someday, until he finds himself to be a winkled old man. Dorion panics and without thinking, he curses his painting because he finds it unfair that it will never age, while he himself, the original, will grow old with each passing day. He says 'I wish it would age instead of I.' (it sounded a lot better in the book.)

Then of course, his wish comes true.

Basil sends him the painting, and Dorion keeps it under a curtain so he'll never have to see it, and despair at his own reflection.

A few days later, Dorion goes on a whim, to see a play at an old, decrepit theater. Most of the actors are rather talentless, but one- Sibyl Vane, who plays the role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Ophelia in Hamlet etc... He falls in love almost instantly, and they talk after the show. After three meetings, Dorion proposes to her.

Back at Sibyl's home (she lives with her mother, and they depend on the wages she makes for her acting to survive), she tells her mother the happy news, but the elder woman is unsure/ against their union because Sibyl is only 16, and more importantly, she doesn't even know his full name (she refers to Dorion Gray as her 'Prince Charming'.) Then, Sibyl's brother, James comes home, and he takes the side of their mother. But when they realize how sure she is of Dorion's devotion to her, James gives up and merely says, 'if he ever hurts you, I'll kill him.'

Dorion takes his friends, Lord Henry and Basil to meet his new fiance at the theatre, but to their surprise, the actress he praised so highly is mediocre at best. Disappointed, they leave halfway through and say, 'she's pretty, but she can't act.' However, Dorion stays behind to confront her after the show. He tells her that he no longer loves her because she can no longer act. Sibyl tries to explain that all the passion she had once felt for acting has now been turned into love for him, but he leaves, while she begs him to stay.

That night, Dorion passes by his portrait and notices that something's changed. An evil sneer has replaced the once perfect, peaceful expression of his mouth. But he dismisses it, as a result of his disappointment in the show that night. Then, after thinking it through a bit more, Dorion decides that what he did to Sibyl was cruel, and though she no longer holds as much interest for him, she can still be his wife. He plans to return, and apologize the next day.

The next day, Lord Henry drops by before he can leave, and says, 'I'm so sorry for what happened last night! You must be so distressed!' Dorion tells him that it's nothing really, and that he's going back to make amends. But Lord Henry appears surprised.

It turns out, Sibyl killed herself after he left.

And that's only about half the book. If you haven't read it, I don't want to spoil anything else. :D Especially the ending, which was amazingly well done, and tragic.

Eclipse: I actually read it before leaving for Italy, but I didn't have time to say anything about it here. Basically, I think this was the best of the three books (the other two being Twilight and New Moon.) Of course, my dislike for Bella has only grown as a result of Eclipse, however, I now think Edward's actually an okay character. He's extremely forgiving, and takes all of Bella's problems without compliant, unlike Jacob who simply can't see why she'd love a vampire until the end of the book.

I know a lot of people on my friend list have exams and things at this time of the year, so I'd like to say- GOOD LUCK!

I'm sure you'll all do great. :D

I was kind of... away yesterday, so I didn't have the time to post this and wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day ♥. :( Better late than never though, right? :D I hope you all had a nice day, even if you don't celebrate Valentine's.

Basically, I've been playing my video game (if you've read any of my previous posts, you'll know what game I'm talking about) and sadly, it's almost over (I'm infiltrating Draklor Laboratories right now- I don't refer to playing video games as just playing because I'm weird like that. When my friends asked me what I did on the weekend, I responded, "I was saving the world", and indeed, I sort of was. In any case, it sounds more exciting.) Knowing me, I'll probably drag it on for as long as possible and do all the tedious sidequests and mini-games... Then, I'll finish the game and look forward to the next one (Dirge of Cerberus, or Kingdom of Hearts maybe.) Meanwhile, I'll check repeatedly on http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/ for any news of FFXIII (sad, because I don't have a PS3... yet.)

<lj-embed id="8" />

..cause I watch this at least 5 times a day. I really wish Square Enix would announce his name already because people are starting to think up really weird names (ehh... snowflake?) for this awesome character, who clearly needs a name to complete his awesomeness.

I've also been reading the 'Twilight Saga'. XD I'm not sure what to say about it actually. I finish the first 2 books in two days, and I've placed a hold for the 3rd book... But I'm still kind of not sure if I like it or not. The writing's nothing spectacular, and the plot is like a stretched out version of Romeo and Juliet... There's just something about it that makes me want to read more...

I dislike Edward <strike>and his mood swings</strike> and Bella (I don't mean Edward and Bella as a couple -which is something I kind of have to get used to since they are the main couple.) Jacob too, occasionally. In fact, the only character I have any respect for is Carlisle. <3 And I found that I'm prone to feeling massive amounts of pity for Jasper.

Once again, I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!..

I can't say I'm too excited, but... IT'S CHRISTMAS. :D At my school, we're selling candygram things for 75 cents (a 25 cent increase from last year...) and 25 cents from each one sold goes to this charity project we're doing to build a school somewhere in the world. Ehh... I think we've raised $300 so far (not just from the candygrams) and I think it costs $9000 dollars to build a school (at least, that's what they tell us...)... Oh well.

So, since the end of Romeo x Juliet, I've been looking for a new fandom to be obsessed with, but so far- nothing. T-T And that disappointing finish I talked about in my last post still makes me go 0_0 from time to time.

+ I've tried Fruits Basket, and dropped it after 9 episodes cause I couldn't stand Tohru or Yuki's freaky voice (I watched it dubbed btw).
+ Then I started watching some Nodame Cantabile (because the name sounded sooo pretty!), but the people were drawn too weirdly in my opinion. Plus, it makes me feel bad about my own dismal piano playing. :(
+ The fall season has already started, but so far nothing realllyy interests me.
+ A.F.K hasn't subbed any Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei in weeks. T-T This leaves me in despair.

And I haven't been following Bleach at all lately.

So, any suggestions? XD I'm looking for series that are about... 2 seasons. :D No Lucky Star, cause that show annoys me.
Romeo x Juliet.

Episode 26. Last episode. 0_o

SPOILERS. Lots of them.

This was not what I expected the conclusion to be like. No suicide. No poison. No awesome epic battle. No... anything really.

Basically, Romeo's little "start our own village" plan sunk, and he goes off chasing Juliet cause she went back to Neo Verona. Why, I don't know. Maybe it's because they haven't seen each other in half an episode.

There he learns "OMG MY FATHER ADOPTED MERCUTIO" and it's all weird. Laertes is INSANE. More insane tha n I previously thought. But he dies. I forgot how.

Then Ophelia comes in to talk to Juliet who's emoing at her parents' grave and says this prophecy sorta thing. To make it simple : Escalus supports Neo Verona. There was this other tree that was it's twin that supported Neo Verona, but it died even though it' was supposed to be "eternal". See where this is going?

Ok, here's another hint: Juliet has a seed inside of her.

They made it sound all mysterious and stuff, but really, all Ophelia was saying was that Juliet has to sacrfice herself, turn into a tree and save Neo Verona. :D

Fast forward to last episode.

Ophelia goes physco and stuff, Romeo tries to save Juliet, and gets stabbed by a branch and dies. Francisco shoots Ophelia, Juliet dies. And she turns into a tree while Ophelia turns into bark. That made a load of sense. -_-

The END.

Then there's a prologue. Cordelia and Benvolio who got hitched in episode 21 have a kid. Tybalt spends his days giving flying horse rides to random children. Curio owns a fruit shop and I'm not quite sure what Francisco does now. Oh, and I think Hermione knows now that she and Romeo will never be together. :)

Well, I don't know what happened. They should've just stuck to the original story instead including all this tree stuff that was revealed in like... the last 3 episodes? And what was the purpose of that whole Romeo-in-a-mine thing, except for that village that failed anyway.

And it's sad. Romeo died cause he got stabbed by a branch. I mean, wow. I thought maybe he would sacrifice himself in the end for Juliet or become the other tree. It would've been less... pathetic?

Oh well. At least it's over. :D

Uhh so now I reflect on the point of this series. Is it... humans have committed too many sins (Escalus is dying supposedly because humans are too evil)? Or, nature should be respected cause human existance depends on it (Escalus supported Neo Verona, literally. But I can't help but wonder how a tree can support a whole continent in the sky,)? Or... Ok, it's hard. I just don't get the point.

I'm being overly critical, I think, but really, the ending just made me go WTF and *head->desk*.

Whew. That's all.
